James Arlidge

As an international fly half, James' primary role for Major Oak Rugby Coaching is skills and kicking coaching.

James was born in Hamilton, New Zealand where he was thrown in the deep end at a young age. He played Super 14 rugby for the Auckland Blues before provincial rugby for Auckland, ahead of moving on to play for NPC teams Northland and Otago, rival Super 14 team The Highlanders and the New Zealand Maori’s. James then took a big step by moving to Japan singing for Osaka based club NTT Kansai. After gaining residency he was chosen to play for Japanese National Squad scoring 2 tries and kicking 10 out of 10 conversions on his debut.

A move to the Magners League followed, with James signing for the Newport Gwent Dragons before moving to Nottingham in 2010.

James' international career includes appearing for Japan at the 2011 world cup in New Zealand where his man of the match performance against France included 2 tries.

The majority of James' coaching experience has come from Mick Byrne (The All Blacks Skills Coach) who he has worked with for the past 5 years.
